For your information, I'm working on a new "Play mode" feature for the Board Painter.

You should be able to start a game with a subset of pieces (Classic, Musketeer, personal setup...) and then send a board with all positions by email or any message app, just a link to share.

No rules control, but full freedom of pieces moves to play with someone by email. No need to know abbreviations and notations, and easy to roll back as the shared links entirely describe a game status.

yep, I didn't mean to put too many board setup in the URL but colors might be important, especially in this case.
I will add it.

Thanks, board color is ok now.

Regarding the FEN

Code: Select all

RNBQKBNR/PPPPPPPP/8/8/8/8/pppppppp/rnbqkbnr
from

Code: Select all

gs=musk&state=2H2[Ch]2/RNBQKBNR/PPPPPPPP/8/8/8/8/pppppppp/rnbqkbnr/2[ch]3h1&rr=1&bm=1&bc=FFCC9C&wc=CF8948
Is this intentional? Normally this is

Code: Select all

rnbqkbnr/pppppppp/8/8/8/8/PPPPPPPP/RNBQKBNR

No, it is not international, it is an extended FEN notation to handle more than 600 pieces : https://musketeerchess.net/docs/boardpa ... guide.html

I am aware of the 2-character piece name in the FEN extended format, what I mean is this one,

Code: Select all

RNBQKBNR/PPPPPPPP/8/8/8/8/pppppppp/rnbqkbnr
is in reverse order according to standard FEN format,

Code: Select all

16.1.3.1: Piece placement data

The first field represents the placement of the pieces on the board. The board
contents are specified starting with the eighth rank and ending with the first
rank. For each rank, the squares are specified from file a to file h. White
pieces are identified by uppercase SAN piece letters ("PNBRQK") and black
pieces are identified by lowercase SAN piece letters ("pnbrqk"). Empty squares
are represented by the digits one through eight; the digit used represents the
count of contiguous empty squares along a rank. A solidus character "/" is
used to separate data of adjacent ranks.
It should be like this.

Code: Select all

rnbqkbnr/pppppppp/8/8/8/8/PPPPPPPP/RNBQKBNR
If this is part of the extended format so be it, but I would suggest to follow the FEN standard format as much as possible.
