Future developments of Musketeer Chess

Each player will play with the usual 16 chess pieces + 2 new pieces, the new pieces are identical for both players. The choice of the new pieces is an agreement: white chooses the first piece and then black chooses the second piece.
There are 10 musketeer pieces: Leopard, Hawk, Chancellor, Archbishop, Elephant, Unicorn, Cannon, Dragon, Fortress and Spider.

Hi friends
Thank you for your support.

What future developments you wish to see in Musketeer Chess?

Do you like the piece design of Musketeer Chess?

Have you pièces you would like to be developed?

Your feedback is important for us.

Best regards

Hi friends
Future developments are as follows:

Many persons complained about the "quality" of the currently known Diagrams of Archbishop and Chancellor (confusing situation between Knights, Amazone etc.) too many Knights.
Mr Frank Camaratta himself helped and proposed 2 new diagrams. They are simply awesome. They really reflect the own personnality of these unique pieces. My favorite as a Chess Variant player is the Archbishop, but the diagram of the Chancellor is the most aesthetic i.m.h.o

The next development in the following weeks, days:

Release of many new chess variants. They are all based on my work in changing the Pawn rules. A difficult task as i don't like for example the Berolina Pawns. In fact, the game changes too much, no more pawn chains, but these changes always give many interesting endgames. So the Berolina Pawn in my opinion is to be used in endgames. My next development will certainly be a Pawn playing like a classic pawn in the first half and like the Berolina Pawn when crossing half the Board. This idea will naturally be tested and will be i hope available soon.

In production, 7 different alternative designs for the Pawn. But i call them "Super Pawns" as i added rules. The new rules always try to respect as much as possible the spirit of the pawn (the soul of chess) and help always having Pawn chains. But the new rules give also extra possibilities, tactics. The pawns are no longer by far the weakest pieces on the Board. Their role is more important and they now take a bigger place in the games.

The super pawns are named like the military grades from Sergeant to General. But they have also alternative names (Defender ... and naturally the Musketeer).

Currrently in development: 10 new fairy pieces among them many figural pieces you are all waiting for: Lion, Figural Spider, Griffin, Wildebeest, Bear Wolf, but also a new modelisation of the Cannon, a new piece: te Warrior.

Concepts: We also begun to develop 4 other figural pieces, Mammoth, Rhinoceros, Camel and Dragon.

Last but not the least: Mr John Keith Williams created a new chess variant he named: "Cerebral Chess". This variant uses many of the pieces initially developed for Musketeer Chess. I much like this variant and we are making his dream come true: Having an online available and playable version of Cerebral Chess. We hope you'll enjoy it. Cerebral Chess uses pieces developed for Musketeer Chess, it's played on a 10x10 Board with an extra square at each corner. But the piece rules are different than those you know in Musketeer Chess. We encourage all of you to inspire yourself from Musketeer Chess pieces and create your own game.

We also encourage sharing your ideas, reporting bugs etc.

We hope you enjoy our work. Don't hesitate to send feedback to musketeerchess(a)gmail.com

Zied,
Thank you so much for all you've done to help me promote cerebral (edema) chess!
I hope this variant becomes popular and encourages more players to get your Musketeer chessmen to create their own sets.
Keith

Check out my shared G-drive – Cerebral (edema) Chess folder:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... GdvR0M5SzA
Access instructional poster (24” x 36”) with diagrams of how the chess pieces move.
Go into the “Photos” folder to see pictures of the chess set.
The Musketeer chess pieces look fantastic!

Well, everything seems possible here... What about a piece that can eat pieces from the same side (only)? Or that can eat only certain pieces of the other side?

Well, in FICGS forum (joke discussion "replacing queen by dragon"), one player gave me the idea through "D. Trump" & "Kim Jong Un" but well, not sure it suits here :) What about the pit, catapult, rock or missile... (or pieces that can't be eaten, a piece that would attack it would be eaten - kind of suicide)
