Re: King + Musketeer piece vs King checkmate-practice applet

I set up an applet where one can practice elementary end-games of King + piece vs King, for many different pieces, including most Musketeer pieces. See http://hgm.nubati.net/rules/EGT.html . The page starts building an end-game table for the selected piece, and then will reply to any move you play ...

[restore topic] Endgames with King + Elephant vs King

[real post date : Mon Aug 20, 2018 12:43 am] Mate here is a very easy goal. Beware of stalemates !! As usual, the mate is in the corner, but could also be on any square of the 1st or 8th line. [restored topic] Mating in endgames with the Unicorn

[real post date : Sun Aug 19, 2018 9:41 am] When you play an endgame with Unicorn + King vs King, it's in general a draw because the King and Unicorn cannot force the opponent king to go to a corner, sole place where the Unicorn can mate. KU vs K corner mate.png The advise when you are a Unicorn up,...

[restored topic] Hawk mating technique , endgame King + Hawk vs King

[real post date : Sun Aug 19, 2018 8:54 am] This is an example of how to mate using a Hawk in endgames with King + Hawk vs king. Not an easy task, but with the right Hawk “dance” you will prevail. Here is the starting position: KH vs K.png First, you have to reduce the space for the opponent King. F...
